A Time For Respite

by patrickandcarol, May 28, 2007
It has been wonderful to be blessed with the opportunity to spend time with our family and friends and needless to say, we are enjoying the cold weather.

And the beauitful home of our gracious hosts, Phil and Lissa, is the perfect setting for respite.

Where The River Runs Deep...

by patrickandcarol, May 16, 2007
We had an awesome time at the COC Conference.

The Pastor's gathered from all around the world and delivered inspirational messages...

... from Queensland...

null

... and New York...

null

... and Canada...

null

...the list goes on and on.

The worship team led us to 'Heavenly Places.'

null

null

The Prophet was there...

null

... and so was Sister who gave us a copy of a book, which includes her story. It was great to meet again after first meeting at the Joyce Meyer Ministries Conference on Intercession in Cambodia.

null

So just what is happening in...

Egypt...

null

... and the Himalayas?

null

The kids were enjoying themselves.

null

The surroundings were beautiful...

null

null

... and 'the girls' gathered for a photo.

Singapore

by patrickandcarol, May 15, 2007
After arriving in Changi and enjoying a walk around the terminals and some relaxation at a cafe...

null

...we all gathered at the Meeting Place, as instructed...

null

(It was great to finally meet the other Aussies that we had heard about who are living and serving in Cambodia)

...now where's our transport to Johor Boru, Malaysia?

We May Be Off The Air ...

by patrickandcarol, May 14, 2007
... as we are going to attend the COC Conference in Malayasia before heading to Perth next weekend.

As The Fire Works Go Off...

by patrickandcarol, May 14, 2007
... in the background to mark the occasion of the King's Birthday, this month I celebrate 3 years since I moved to Cambodia to serve the poor and needy.

Patrick and I have been blessed with so many opportunities and open doors and we know that there is so much before us. We feel as though we are just about to begin!

Ephesians 3:20

Tuk Tuks...

by patrickandcarol, May 14, 2007
... are everywhere, but when you start looking to buy one, it's a little tricky.

null

Pastor Sara led the way and one shop owner even took us to a 'back ally' where he showed us one that would be ready tomorrow after a new paint job!

The Tuk Tuk will be used to transport people from the village to Pastor Sara's Church on Sundays. On weekdays it will be a source of income generation.

What's The Major Topic Of Conversation....

by patrickandcarol, May 14, 2007
... when Sam and Patrick get together?! The Docker's, of course!

null

And that other team that lost, also got a mention!

Praise & Worship

by patrickandcarol, May 13, 2007
We were a part of a beautiful praise and worship service on Mother's Day...

null

... and the little guy next to me was giving it his best!

Two Of My Favourite Things...

by patrickandcarol, May 13, 2007
... are coffee in bed in the morning and cascading water and on Sunday morning I got both!

I was lying in bed enjoying a cuppa and I heard cascading water. When I got up to investigate, the water was flowing down the stair well from the top level where the plumber had been working the day before, to the ground floor!

Market Days

by patrickandcarol, May 12, 2007
Patrick looks a little warm in the food hall at the local market.

null

Personal Development

by patrickandcarol, May 12, 2007
Everyone was enthusiastic and had a great time when we presented a Personal Development session at Hagar.

After that, it was time to join the Saturday morning ex pat crew for breakfast, where we all have a great time.

Guess What...

by patrickandcarol, May 12, 2007
...it's another long break, here in Cambodia. This time it is a total of 5 days, including the weekend.

It's time to celebrate the King's Birthday.

That means that not a lot will get done in the business sector next week because they often think that it's not really worth coming back for just two days, so they make it a real long break.

It keeps us entertained!

Graduation

by patrickandcarol, May 11, 2007
It is great that our dear friend Leang has graduated as an Office Manager. Well done!

null

Time For A Break

by patrickandcarol, May 11, 2007
It is always nice to get together for lunch - even though we still discuss business.

null

You Have Seen Centre 1 & Centre 2...

by patrickandcarol, May 11, 2007
... and here's Centre 3...

null

... where the Transform Cambodia signs and the Australian and Cambodian flags have taken their place.

null

Busy Children

by patrickandcarol, May 11, 2007
The children in the English class were concentrating...

null

... while the children doing their Khmer studies were a little more relaxed...

null

... while the children attending 'Story Time' were thoroughly enjoying themselves.

null

Could It Be Counterfeit?!

by patrickandcarol, May 11, 2007
Counterfeit notes are doing the rounds here in Phnom Penh, so when I asked for change of a $50 the boys enjoyed having a joke and giving the note a thorough examination.

M&M's - Mmmhhhh!!!!!!!!!

by patrickandcarol, May 11, 2007
Malin had a special gift to pass onto us from Lorraine - a nice big packet of M&M's. How sweet!. Thank you, Lorraine. (I am unable to email you as I receive a Systems Administrator message advising that my e-mail accounts cannot send to this recipient).

I think we should share them with our new little neighbours sometime on the weekend.

She's Back!

by patrickandcarol, May 11, 2007
Malin was excited about sharing her Australian adventures on her first day back.

null

Out & About

by patrickandcarol, May 11, 2007
The teams have been out and about 'looking for' children to invite to the two new Transform Centres which open next month.

The girls have decided it's good exercise and were a little on the warm side, but we noticed that a couple of the boys decided to take a moto taxi to centre one, when it was time for lunch.

null

Off With The Old....

by patrickandcarol, May 09, 2007
... and on with the new!

The kids at Metro House were very excited when they received their nice new blue T shirt and a basic needs pack.

null

null

null

null

These children are the 'littlies', so they had to wait their turn.

null

Time for a group photo before heading home...

null

... and some last minute instructions.

null

And of course, there's always time for a cuddle from me!

Take Two For Todd

by patrickandcarol, May 09, 2007
Todd was due to travel from America to Cambodia with his father, Reverend James, a couple of months or so ago, but it didn't happen. But it has now! So it was great to meet Todd and see Jim again and to get together and enjoy a meal and discuss the ministry.

Registration Desk

by patrickandcarol, May 08, 2007
These two Centre 2 team members were busy organising the children's registrations.

null

Regarding Children

by patrickandcarol, May 08, 2007
We are always networking to ensure that we are up to date with the current 'state of affairs' of the poor Khmer children, so we meet when and where we can, with whomever we can.

In this instance, Sam and I were traveling along the same road, so it was time to seize the opportunity and travel side by side to discuss young poor children that Sam is associated with, who fit the Transform criteria, in an area close by to one of the new Transform centres.

"What's Wrong....

by patrickandcarol, May 06, 2007
... if the beds got damaged on the truck while being delivered?", asked the shop owner.

Please just take them back and replace them, was the reply - Thank you.

null

"What's wrong if the damaged bed heads and ends that were replaced don't match the colour of the base?", asked the shop owner.

null

What's Wrong...

by patrickandcarol, May 06, 2007
... if the power supply sparks and crackles in the living room?

null

They're Here!

by patrickandcarol, May 06, 2007
Carl and Suzanna have been talking about coming to Phnom Penh since Carl first visited a couple of years ago on a Riverview Church Awareness trip, so it is great that they are finally here on a short term mission.

null

I wonder what the future holds for them here!

Two House # 16's

by patrickandcarol, May 06, 2007
With two house number 16's in our street (anyone who has looked for an address here, will know that this is a common issue), it was time to make our home easier to locate.
null

The sign writer obviously decided that the apostrophe in our name was superfluous.

With security always such an issue here everything is locked, so it was necessary to install a door bell for the convenience of our visitors - and it plays 'Fur Elise', one of my all time favourites.

Our New Carport

Where's the nice white beach sand to go with the nice bright beach brolly?!

Ssshhhh, It's A Secret!!!

by patrickandcarol, May 06, 2007
Malin had a 6.30am appointment at the hairdressors, before I picked her up in the taxi around 8am.

null

Where are we?! Pochentong!

null

Malin was a 'surprise' for 'Just Worship' so I traveled to Singapore with her because she had never transited before.

null

The turbulence caused Malin to feel nauseous, so it wasn't long before she put the tiger balm to good use. After reading the psalms together, Malin felt more comfortable, so it was time for her to put up her feet and relax with a magazine.

null

A foot massage is supposed to be enjoyable, but Malin didn't like 'Big Foot' at all. I bet Kay would be happy to take her place.

null

Look at how big the Koi are.

null

How blessed we were that our departure gates were side by side. My Phnom Penh return flight left prior to Malin's departure, so I left her at her departure gate.

It was time for me to board.

Malin, tell me one more time, what is your gate number, flight number, boarding time, departure time, destination etc?!

After reciting all of the above, Malin said that she would go to Perth after she boarded a flight that would take her around the world.

Funny, Malin!

And change the time on your mobile now, so you don't miss your flight!

null

The new shoes were obviously 'biting'.

New Neighbours

by patrickandcarol, May 06, 2007
There are a lot of young children living in the surrounding rooms and houses. Very cute!

null

At The New House

by patrickandcarol, May 01, 2007
Our new rental became a hive of activity, as it was cleaned and contents were put in place.

null

The only way to get some of the items in the unit was to take out windows or hoist them up over the balcony and mezzanine.

As We Moved Out...

by patrickandcarol, May 01, 2007
... Sam moved into the old Kelly's Motel.

It's Time For The Kellys' To Move On Up!

by patrickandcarol, May 01, 2007
We woke up to heavy rain and Patrick thought about calling the move off, but I knew it would clear for our move and within an hour or so by the time the truck arrived, the rain had ceased. I wasn't well enough to do any lifting or moving contents, but that didn't matter, as we had a cast of thousands turn up to assist.

It was a public holiday for Transform Cambodia staff (How timely is that?! Always perfect, in His time, as usual), so nearly all of the team and some of their friends whom we hadn't met before, worked any amount of time between 7.30am and 5.30pm. It was a big day for some and all agreed that it was easier working at the centre ;)

The girls might be little, but they are strong!

null

The kids were happy to play.

null

It's a bit of a drop!

null

null

Plenty of muscle was required to lower the items.

null

Chanty, our sewing skills teacher, dismantled the sewing machines.

We Will Be Off The Air...

by patrickandcarol, May 01, 2007
... until further notice, due to moving house.
