... is the name given to our CARE Program which has been established to educate hundreds of poor and needy Cambodian children in the city and provincial districts.
We had the acronym of CARE for the education program and Shirrelle came up with the powerful words that fit the vision perfectly!
We invite you to join our 'CARE Program' today by joining our committed team of
'Cambodia's Angels for Radical Empowerment' . You, too, can be making a difference for only $US40 per child/per month.

... has left the country ...
... and returned 'Down Under' ...
... but some things remain ...
... as the fruit of Becc's labour that flowed out of a heart as big as the country she served ...
... devoted to the Cambodian people ...
... continues to blossom.
I know I am going to miss having Becc in town and especially our breakfast and conversation regarding Him and the oppressed. Cafe Yejj will never be the same!
Thank you for being a huge blessing in our life! Be blessed, Becc Brewer!

... other activities throughout the course of the week included, but were not limited to ... the parachute ...
... picture frames ...
... and a host of other activities using all the great resources the team brought with them to stimulate the children's creativity.
The team conducted English classes for the women in the village ...
... as well as devotions.

It's Saturday ... but the children were happy to come to the centre ...
... as were the youth in the village who got to enjoy popcorn while watching a movie and let their creativity flow as they personalised their bags.
Sunday was a time to gather at NLF ...
... to worship ...
... followed by a enjoyable time over lunch with the team.

... was a special event for the ladies. A mini version of
'A Life Made Beautiful' conference was beautifully presented to a group of 45+ women from the Empowering Cambodia projects and the Koh Krobey community, while the children enjoyed a public holiday.
I was touched to see Om's empty wheelchair at the bottom of the stairs ...
... and deeply moved as I watched Phearin carry her up the stairs and gently place her on a seat at the conference.
The conference commenced with a time of 'Praise & Worship' which always sounds beautiful with a combination of Khmer and English language ...
... and the table settings in the hall looked beautiful with all the potpourri sprinkled pink table cloths, china cups and saucers, candles and flowers (which the ladies packed in their suitcases for the trip down here. Only a handle on one cup was found to be broken when the goods were unpacked at this end). A number of team members, including Donna ...
... Sherrijean ...
... and Shirelle ...
... did a great job of presenting on various women from the Bible, complete with relevant beauty tips ...
... which this little one wasn't too keen about because while mum participated in the sessions, lots of us cuddled him.
Where's my mum?!
I want my mum!
The ladies enjoyed their morning tea ...
... and the gifts they received were a real blessing.
The youngest lady in the room was 17 days old.
Meanwhile, Phearin and Vireak were running a 'Day Care Program' out on the block.
It was a special day for everyone with lots of hugs and prayer ...
... (and I am glad you had your camera there for me to use, Tiffany) ...
... and happy memories ...
... and certainly a day when Om's life was made beautiful during her special time out of the confines of her wheelchair.
Thank you ladies ...
... for bringing
'A Life Made Beautiful' to Cambodia.
After the conference, we joined the team for lunch at Jars of Clay where the ladies had a chance to sit and relax ...
... before moving on to visit the 'Sew Empowered' team and purchasing some T shirts.
To end a beautiful day ...
... we joined the team for dinner.
And that was Day 2!

Bright and early the next morning the team arrived at TLC where they were warmly welcomed by our 'Greeting Committee'.
I am sure that Laura felt welcome with this little ones arm wrapped around her.
After some quick introductions the team's program was underway for the 'This is the Day' session when the children were taught a new song, complete with actions ...
... which gave a few of the team members a chance to get to know some of the children ...
... followed by the group sessions with Chris and Phearin leading one of the groups ...
... where the children received Bibles and stationery.
The children were excited to receive their special gift.
Meanwhile, Shirrelle, Sue and Sherrijean, together with Leap, lead the craft session ...
... while Donna and Tracy organised the 'Kindy Kids' class ...
... while Cheryl relaxed with some of the kids.
All of the children produced beautiful name cards in each of the classrooms which they were very happy with.
The children were excited with the 'Marble Art' ...
... and these children were happy with their folders ...
... and recorders ...
... which produced 'sweet sounds' after a quick lesson from Diane.
Pastor Sara joined us to give his testimony.
After lunch ... the team got to do the program all over again with the afternoon group.

... team 2009, arrived in Phnom Penh to join us for a week of service ...

... and the rest of the team were looking forward to a nice comfortable bed.

... has not dampened the spirit of this young man.
After waiting patiently for almost a year for a position at a school for the blind, this young man didn't make it through one night away from home before his mother was contacted to come and pick him up because he was very upset and missing his family so much.
Due to his visual impairment, the local government school is no longer able to offer him a position in class. So, we have taken on the challenge to equip and empower him so that he can achieve his dream to be a Teacher.
The 'qwerty' keyboard is the first set of skills on his program schedule with Braille to follow in the future.
If you have resources you think would be of benefit in equipping and empowering this young man or can recommend a resource centre, please let us know. Thank you!

... to serve the Cambodian people has once again brought her to Phnom Penh. This time around, Debbie has been assisting with establishing a patient care program.
Back in the USA, Debbie had kindly arranged an order of thongs/flip flops to distribute to the children and adults in the village. What an excellent idea - Soles for Souls!
The children were delighted to receive their new shoes ...
... and a cuddle.
With everyone sporting a new pair of thongs/flip flops ...
... it was time for Debbie and Yim to pack up ...
... and move onto an orphanage to provide more children with shoes.
We had the pleasure of spending time with Debbie ...
... and Yim to discuss a variety of things ...
... including the various aspects ...
... associated with establishing and operating an organisation in Cambodia.
We look forward to meeting up with Debbie when she returns next time with Tim!

Carl arrived in town prior to the rest of the team to check out the 'To Do List' of a number of organisations ...
... and we later met with Kelley, Carl and Susanne to discuss what could and couldn't be done.
With the team in town, it was down to business installing sinks ...
... and painting preparations ... (complete with a spirit level. That's novel in Cambodia!) ...
... and dining with Aaron and Richard ...
... Carl and Linda ...
... Dan and Frank.
Check out the service to keep Carl and Josh dry when the rain started!
Next stop (on the 'Progressive/Promenade Dinner')...
... Cafe Sahara for a cuppa to complete a lovely evening.
