Safe drinking water is also a necessity for good health ...



... so the project continues to dig wells.



The water filters need to be maintained and it was good to see them get a clean.



The lake you see here dries up during the dry season which prevents dry season rice cropping.



As a result of the irrigation project we assisted with, the locals are now able to pump the water from the river to the lake and then onto their rice fields. This gives them two crops per year with a subsequent increase in annual income for the family. 57 families benefit from this project.



As you can see, this family is very happy with their rice bagged and ready for sale ...



.... and this family continue working on their rice to get it ready for sale.





As the rice cooperatives enter the second year it is time to meet with the participants on a scheduled visit to discuss how the operation is going and to remind them of the objectives of the project.



These farmers are happy with their crops.











Now it is time to prepare to plant the next crop, but first the documentation must be completed and the micro loan funds issued.





The Village Chief reads the agreements to ensure he is happy with what his people are signing…



Now it is time to sign (thumb print) the documents…..





With all the documentation now complete the funds are issued ...



... and the process completed by the Village Chief signing off.



The fish in the fish farm continue to grow as we wait for the market to improve before harvesting the fish for sale in order to ensure the best possible price.





Providing adequate shelter is very important for the safety of these people and security of their possessions. So a new house is built and a family move from this ...
